Appreciating the people that take care of us
Nurses are some of the most essential workers in all of healthcare. During this pandemic, they have gone above and beyond caring for us and ensuring that we are safe by risking their lives to save others while staying calm and collected. On top of that, they work long hours and are on their feet almost all day, walking on average 4-5 miles. During National Nurses’ week, May 6th-12th, we want to appreciate all the work nurses have done, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as express to all nurses how much they mean to us.
During such a difficult time, nurses have risen above and beyond the challenge presented to them. Some trials they encountered this past year include limitations on supplies all year, especially when it comes to protective gear for themselves, such as gloves, masks, and other sanitary appliances. And they adapted to not having visitors for their patients by adding more work on themselves to help patients video chat their families. Nurses went above and beyond what was expected of them in 2020 and we cannot help but take a moment to stop and thank them for their hard work, sleepless nights, and selflessness.
Some companies such as Dunkin Donuts, Chipotle, Jimmy Johns, and more are giving away some amazing deals to these brave men and women so if you are a nurse, be sure to check them out! Other ways we can thank our nurses are taking the time to thank them if you see them in person, writing thank you notes to let them know how much you appreciate their hard work or donating masks and face shields to your local hospital to make sure they have supplies to protect themselves. Go out of your way to thank a nurse during Nurses’ Week! To all our nurses, SureCo thanks you! We truly would not have made it through the past year without your hard work and sacrifice.
